Connecting to make a Difference.

JIWA has continued to grow and increase its support to organisations in need, organisations that make a long-term sustainable impact and that empower women, young adults and children.

“As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.”

– Mary Anne Radmacher

This perfectly describes the founding principle of the Johannesburg
Indian Women Association (JIWA).

Our Mission & Vision

JIWA's mission is to nourish, nurture, educate, and empower communities through sustainable initiatives. By fostering growth and creating opportunities, JIWA aims to create lasting change. Driven by passionate members, JIWA has supported over 10 organisations with vital assistance.

About JIWA:

JIWA is a voluntary, registered non-profit charitable organization that was established in 2005 by Indian expatriate women living in South Africa. These women aimed to make a meaningful impact on the lives of the less fortunate in Johannesburg. Over the years, JIWA has grown into a thriving NPO with 29 members of all Indian descent, including both expatriates and South African Indians. A commitment to uplift underprivileged communities drives the organisations work, and
its efforts are sustained through corporate donations, private sponsorships, and various fundraising events held throughout the year.
